Russian propagandists have warned Moscow can and “will” use nuclear weapons amid reports that Vladimir Putin could launch an attack on NATO in weeks. Speaking on Russian state TV show ’60 Minutes’, Russian journalist and military expert Igor Yuryevich Korotchenko, said Russia “will use nuclear weapons” whenever they “consider it to be necessary”.

He insisted that such measures would be used to “destroy transport logistics in western Ukraine“. Yuryevich continued: “Therefore we support our armed forces and the decisions of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

The editor-in-chief of National Defense magazine went on to claim that the Russian public is waiting for strikes against Ukraine to become “more harsh,” with locals reportedly “applauding” as the attacks become more frequent and intense.

Yuryevich added: “In this regard we should understand that the more pain we inflict by destroying the adversary’s infrastructure the easier it is for our soldiers to advance, defend themselves and conduct operations in the zone of the special military operation.

“The more often, the more harder and more effectively we strike Ukraine, its transport logistics, objects of the infrastructure and the military-industrial complex, the faster we will realise the goals and tasks that have been set forth for our armed forces.”

Earlier this week, Ukraine suffered a deadly overnight barrage of Russian ballistic missiles and drones, which killed at least 21 people.

Kyiv and the surrounding region suffered the deadliest attacks of the year so far, with 17 people reported killed. One person was killed in Kharkiv, while three others died in Donetsk.

Russia‘s defence ministry said it had hit logistics hubs and supply centres in the capital of Ukraine and its surrounding region.

“These centres were involved in the storage, delivery of various weapons and military supplies, as well as in the production and distribution of unmanned aerial vehicles,” it said.
