Former Conservative MP Louise Mensch did not remotely hold back as she skewered Prime Minister Keir Starmer live on GB News after the EU was accused of exploiting the Chagos Islands deal to secure fishing rights in British waters. The former MP appeared on the show to talk to Ben Leo about the latest update, and she couldn’t help but obliterate Starmer in the process while also pulling Rachel Reeves into the conversation to take a hit. Mensch kicked off a 90-second rant after being asked a question by the host, and she didn’t stutter.
She opened up her rant by stating: “I just want to know if Keir Starmer is French because he is becoming an expert at waving the white flag!” She added: “In this case what he wants to do is literally pay to give away not only our sovereign territory, not only our national security because there’s a base there with the United States.

“But then we would apparently pay to lease that base back but now to also give away our fishing rights. Now I wonder why he and Rachel Reeves are constantly pushing us to get closer to the EU when the EU obviously hate us.”
She stated that she felt this was “geopolitical trolling” adding: “The EU knows perfectly well that fishing rights in British waters are one of the key reasons why we decided to leave the EU.”
Mensch then discussed the deal with the Chagos Islands but stated she hated calling it as such because a “deal usually suggets we’re getting something back” but questioned what we were getting back in exchange for “the privilege of surrendering our territory”. She answered her own question by adding: “The answer is absolutely nothing.”
She raged: “They want to take away not only the territory and the money for the territory, but now also the fish and on top of it, ruin the environment.” In a final blow to Starmer she said the thing that matters to him “more than anything else” is his “best mate Lord Hermer who hates the United States, hates the Western Alliance and hates British History, desperately trying to give away the Chagos Islands. Only President Trump can stop it, that’s the irony.”
Ben was silence throughout the entire rant as he allowed the MP to simply unleash on Starmer, but the topic has certainly been one that has divided the public. A report from the European Commission recently revealed it is watching Britain’s Chagos deal with “great interest” and will be a major boost for European-owned trawlers if the door is opened for fishing licences.
