Nigel Farage unveiled his local elections campaign slogan ahead of the poll on May 7 which will see thousands of council seats up for grabs. Urging people to “Vote Reform, Get Starmer Out” the Reform UK leader revealed the slogan at a photocall in Westminster today.
Reform is currently enjoying a healthy lead in the polls, surging ahead to create a ten per cent gap between them and Sir Keir Starmer‘s Labour Party. Mr Farage said that other polling showed that two thirds of British voters wanted to kick Sir Keir out of office.
Mr Farage branded Sir Keir a “pathetic excuse for a Prime Minister” and took aim at his leadership through the Iran crisis. The Reform UK leader added that the UK was in “troubled times when, both at home and abroad” and said the country needed “real leadership.”
His party is hoping to sweep thousands of seats in the upcoming elections, which take place across England and the devolved parliaments. Some polls have shown Reform could take first place in numerous local authorities and the newly expanded Welsh Senedd.
He said that “a vote for anyone other than Reform in the May elections would signal that things can carry on as they are.” Should Reform fail to win the elections, Mr Farage wanted that “Starmer will keep letting the boats cross the Channel, keep raising your taxes, keep hammering your savings and targeting small businesses.”
Sir Keir has recently returned from a flying visit to the Gulf states where he was seeking to cement alliances with regional allies. The pre-planned visit came as Iran and the United States agreed a fragile ceasefire and begun talks to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the closure of which has sent petrol and energy prices rising.

He was left to address claims by the USA that they could seek to withdraw from NATO owing to the President’s displeasure with US allies’ responses to Iran. Sir Keir told broadcasters: “We’re very strong supporters of Nato and I’ve been making the argument for some considerable time that we need to do more. It’s the single most effective military alliance the world has ever known.”
He added: “Do we Europeans need to do more? Yes, I’ve been making that argument for the best part of two years, to our European partners as much as anybody else. We continue to make that case and we will make that case. It is in America’s interests, it’s in European interests. Nato is a defensive alliance, which for decades has kept us much safer than we would otherwise have been.”
The Labour Party are contesting seats across the country in the forthcoming elections, and have pointed to Reform-held councils, such as Kent County Council, as examples of what they say are poorly run authorities.
