Authorities in Jersey have confirmed that an important benefit will continue to be paid at an earlier date than normal. The Community Costs Bonus (CCB) is an annual payment to help households with cost of living pressures.

It’s exclusively for eligible residents of the self-governing British Crown Dependency, located close to France, off the coast of Normandy. It had previously been paid in the autumn, but has been pushed forward to July for the past couple of years to support families facing cost-of-living pressures “as soon as possible”, The Government of Jersey said.

Authorities on the islands have now confirmed that the earlier payment policy will remain in place for this year, with eligible households given a £516.50-cash boost, BBC News reports.

The eligibility rules will be the same as in 2025. This included:

  • That a minimum of one adult in the household had lived in Jersey for at least five years
  • That the household had a combined tax liability less than £2,735 in 2025
  • No member of the household within the previous 7 days of application had an open Income Support Claim.

Residents are told not to apply until they’ve received their latest tax liability.

An estimated £2.466million was allocated to support the scheme from existing budgets, the island’s Government said. Claimants confirmed to have met eligibility reuirements will be transferred the cash automatically.

New applicants can start applying for it from July 14, as per the outlet.

Jersey also has an equivalent of the Winter Fuel Payment for older Britons to support with heating costs.
