GB News presenter Michelle Dewberry was left furious after being snubbed by a Labour minister, as she unleashed her anger on social media. On Monday (June 8), the talk show host took to X/Twitter with a plea to fans ahead of the scheduled interview. Michelle wrote: “Looking forward to the Government talking directly to the Dewbs & Co @GBNEWS audience tonight. What would *you* like me to ask them?”

Despite being inundated with questions and potential lines of enquiry, the 46-year-old later revealed that the politician had cancelled in an enraged follow-up post. Blasting the minister for safeguarding, Michelle stated: “Reader, it didn’t happen. Sadly, the government rep [Natalie Fleet] decided (with minutes to go) she didn’t want to talk to me/you.” The presenter added: “(Tho when I came off air, I did see she was talking to Cathy Newman, a show which gets a fraction of the viewers my show does) How silly to ignore you like this.” (sic)

After airing her frustration, Michelle’s comments were inundated with supportive responses from disappointed viewers, while others slammed the MP.

“The way you deservedly tore Lord Foulkes apart, I’m not surprised they run away, Michelle. They only want to peddle their nonsense without challenge,” claimed a fan.

Another questioned: “With respect, it would be of great interest if @NatalieFleetMP would explain exactly why she decided against appearing, particularly when there is so much to talk about at the moment.”

As a third simply stated: “They don’t like difficult questions!”

“It’s becoming a pattern. Labour seems happy to talk when the questions are easy, but less keen when faced with proper scrutiny. Politicians should answer tough questions before the widest audience, not just the friendliest ones,” echoed a fourth.

Michelle also addressed Fleet’s “last-minute” cancellation during her show, as she informed viewers: “Tonight in three minutes, time I was due to actually talk to the Government. ‘What a treat’, I thought, for my viewers that they was going to join me and talk to me.

“Natalie Fleet, she was the lady that was due to talk to all of you tonight. The Government were very impressed about their new ideas around tech, and they wanted to promote those things that they were going to do to try and help children stay safe online. Yes, I thought to myself, that’s an issue. Women and girls safety, that matters to my viewers. So delighted to have that interview.”

She explained: “Well, guess what happens next, ladies and gents, in three minutes’ time you will not be seeing the Labour Government talking directly to you, because literally a couple of minutes ago, Natalie Fleet decided that she doesn’t want to do the interview. She’s worried about what I potentially am going to ask her.

“This is coming from her staff members, apparently, and they are uncomfortable.”
