GB News alert from journalist Cristo Foufas was made about King Charles III’s decision not to share an Easter message this year. Cristo told viewers that the monarch should deliver an Easter message to show support for Christians who might feel pushed aside. His message comes after Charles opted not to issue a formal televised Easter message; however, Buckingham Palace has clarified that an Easter speech is not something the Palace releases annually.

Addressing GB News viewers, Cristo began: “I don’t think he’s doing much defending of the faith at the moment, is he? And of course, when he was being coronated, he was the defender of all faiths. Remember?” He added: “Firstly, either do all religions, including Christianity, or do no religions. I don’t think you can decide to do certain messages for certain religions and not for the religion you are not supposed to represent, which is Christianity.

“If he wasn’t doing it for the other religions, I don’t think we’d be talking about his – or certainly, it would not be as prominent.

“Secondly, I think this all ties into a massive fear that some in the establishment have that if you… If people from the Islamic faith feel like they are being sidelined or repressed – my god, we hear about nothing else. We hear about the definition of Islamophobia, and we talk about it.”

The broadcaster continued his lengthy monologue, citing: “Sometimes we should talk about it, and sometimes we may talk about it a bit too much.”

He added: “What about the fact that Christianity is not as prominently featured – well, the establishment seems to fall a little bit silent.

“And I think there lies the issue – there is such a fear in the establishment that they are going to be called Islamophobic that they overcompensate to the detriment of people who are Christian and feel left out.”

Some critics noted that Charles had shared messages for the start and end of Ramadan earlier in the year.

The GB News report divided viewers, with one taking to X to write: “It’s too late for him to give an Easter speech – no one wants to hear from someone that should know the right thing.”

Another added: “God save the King. Down with this rage-baiting echo chamber of GB News and its sycophantic guests and presenters.”
