Ben Barbet brought Sky News to a halt for a tragic announcement. The presenter revealed that a 27-year-old officer who worked for Kent Police has died in a car crash while on duty. He told viewers: “Breaking news to bring you. Kent police have announced that one of their officers has died in the line of duty.
“PC Bradley Corke was 27-years-old and died yesterday, having been critically injured when responding to an immediate call when the vehicle PC Bradley Corke was in, alongside his colleague, was involved in a collision. A member of the public who was in a second vehicle continues to be treated for serious injuries, Kent Police, in their statement, say that ‘Bradley selflessly gave up his life while trying to save the lives of others who were in danger.

“His bravery, dedication and passion for helping others will not be forgotten.’ PC Bradley Corke served with the force since May 2022. He was based in Tunbridge and spent his police service in the towns of West Kent.
The Sky News host added: “The force is supporting his family and colleagues, who are devastated.”
Reacting to the heartbreaking news, one commented: “A tragic loss. Deepest condolences to everyone affected.”
“Really sad one. Prayers for the family,” added a second as another said: “That’s heartbreaking news. My thoughts are with the officer’s family, friends, and colleagues at Kent Police during this difficult time.”
The incident occurred on the westbound A20 London Road at the junction with Button Street at around 7.45pm on Thursday, involving a marked Ford Focus police car and a VW Scirocco.
Neil Mennie, chair of Kent Police Federation, said: “We are all absolutely heartbroken to learn of this news.
“Bradley was a popular colleague who will be much missed and we will be doing all we can to support his family and close colleagues at this time.
“Policing is a family and words cannot describe the pain we are all feeling and how this news will affect us in the days, weeks and months ahead.
He added: “This sad incident serves as a horrific example of the risks police officers face and how police officers can sadly make the ultimate sacrifice as they strive to keep the public safe.”
Kent Police has urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
