Sir Keir Starmer is struggling to hold on as Prime Minister as pressure grows from within his own party, with a raft of MPs urging him to step aside. Last week, more than 1,500 Labour councillors were booted out in a local elections bloodbath. The Labour Party also lost control of the Senedd for the first time in history.

Now at least 81 Labour MPs have urged the Prime Minister to quit, with the majority calling for him to resign as Labour leader in the last 24 hours. Joe Morris, a parliamentary private secretary (PPS) to Health Secretary Wes Streeting, and Tom Rutland, a PPS to Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds, Cabinet Office aide Naushabah Khan and Melanie Ward, a PPS to Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, all quit on Monday evening and called for the PM to do the same.
