Excavations have uncovered a long-lost ancient site that perfectly matches descriptions made by numerous biblical figures

Archaeologists believe they have uncovered the real-life location where Jesus Christ was buried before subsequently rising from the dead three days later.
According to the Jerusalem archaeological journal Liber Annuus, researchers have rediscovered an ancient burial site that matches descriptions laid out in scripture thousands of years ago.

Italian archaeologist and lead researcher Francesca Romana Stasolla, from Rome’s Sapienza University, confirmed to the Daily Mail that there was “evidence of a funerary landscape” during an excavation at Jerusalem’s Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
The ancient structure is a fourth-century Roman church found in modern-day Israel.
Many Christians believe the ancient church sits at the same location where Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected, but nothing concrete has ever backed up those religious assumptions – until now.
As per the New York Post, excavations at the Israeli site began back in 2022 during a restoration of the church’s ancient floor.

But years on, it appears some believers may have been on the right track all along, with researchers uncovering an unexpected and peculiar structure hidden beneath the ground.
Sitting underneath the church is an abandoned quarry, cultivated plots of land, rock-cut tombs and even an ancient garden.
As per John 19:41: “At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid.”
Which is exactly what researchers found within the tomb — no one. No body, no bones, nothing.
A grove of olive trees and grapevines has also been uncovered at the ancient quarry site, which some think may be the same plants referenced above by the Apostle John.
John 19:20 states that Jesus’ crucifixion occurred close to Jerusalem, while a reference written in Hebrews 13:12 details that the execution occurred just outside the city gate — which is the exact location of the long-lost quarry at the time Jesus would have been alive.
Stasolla told an Israeli paper that the Good Book “mentions a green area between the Calvary and the tomb”.

“Tick, tick, and tick,” she added, as her team were able to identify exactly that in long-lost “cultivated fields” found within the quarry.
Graves at the quarry were found to be carved out of stone, matching references describing Jesus’ tomb by each of the ‘Big Four’ Apostles — Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
While the list of parallels enshrined in scripture is bountiful, it still does not fully confirm anything.
Finding out the inexplicable truth is not really the point anyway, researchers say.
According to Stasolla, the “real treasure” is uncovering the lost history of those who made the ancient site what it is by expressing and sharing their faith there.
“Whether someone believes or not in the historicity of the Holy Sepulchre, the fact that generations of people did is objective,” she said.
“The history of this place is the history of Jerusalem, and at least from a certain moment, it is the history of the worship of Jesus Christ.”
It is also a story about the power of belief, allowing us to reach back in time and discover what was once lost — almost as if the site itself had been resurrected into a new age.
