A missile warning has been issued in Dubai as residents receive alerts on their phones amid ongoing tensions with Iran. According to the intial reports, residents in UAE were told to seek shelter in a safe place amid “potential missile threats.”
UAE Ministry of Defence said in a statement on X: ” UAE Air Defence Systems have detected a missile threat directed towards the country.
“Kindly follow warnings and updates issued through official channels. The Ministry of Defence clarifies that, if any sounds are heard, they are the result of air defence interceptions.
“The Ministry of Defence affirms its full readiness to respond to any threat and safeguard the UAE’s sovereignty, security, and stability. UAE Air Defence Systems have detected a missile threat directed towards the country.
“Kindly follow warnings and updates issued through official channels.

Is it safe to travel to Dubai and Abu Dhabi?
Here is the latest Foreign Office travel advice for Brits travelling to the UAE.
The FCDO no longer advises against travel to the UAE, but warns that “the situation in the Middle East remains unpredictable”.
However, British nationals currently in the Middle East should be prepared for possible flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and potential travel disruptions.
It also advises that if conflict resumes, to stay away from areas around security or military facilities, keep departure plans and travel documents up to date and stay indoors if they are advised to take shelter.

Strait of Hormuz to remain closed until US meets Iran’s demands
Iran’s top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, says the strategic Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the United States meets Tehran’s demands, including ending the naval blockade.
President Donald Trump insists however that the straght remains open.
The 80-year-old US leader added that the United States is not engaged in talks with Iran and has not scheduled any.

Arrival from Moscow into Dubai delayed
Two flydubai planes due to land in Dubai International Airport have been delayed.
One was bound from Muscat whilst the other is coming from Moscow Vnukovo Airport.
UAE’s Ministry confirm suspension of trade with Iran
In a statement early on Wednesday, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the decision was made in “light of escalations that undermine peace and security in the region”.
“All trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran have been halted until further notice,” it added.

UAE has suspended all trade and financial dealings with Iran after accusing Tehran of launching two ballistic missiles towards its waters.
Iran denies the allegation.
Several flights cancelled and delayed
Several flights have been cancelled and delayed at Dubai International Airport.
Emirates has cancelled two Dubai-Bahrain flights.
Air Arabia has cancelled services to Kuwait and Bahrain.
Numerous arriving flights are also delayed.
