Joel Dommett’s wife Hannah Cooper was left in tears after announcing a “hard” decision. Comedian and presenter Joel, 41, and model and presenter Hannah, 35, got married in 2019 and three years later, in 2022, they started their now famous podcast Never Have I Ever.

However, over four years on from that first episode, they have decided to take a step back, citing the demands of looking after two children plus the podcast, something Masked Singer host Joel referred to as their “third child”.

Joel and Hannah have two children together, Wilde, two, and baby Dutch. Addressing the matter at the start of the latest episode of their podcast, Joel said: “This is it, it’s the final one. It might not come as a shock to people or it might come as a shock to people. We know we’ve had a long hiatus since the birth of our second child but essentially we’ve realised with two children time is hard.

“Time is hard right? God agrees. Microsoft XP agrees. Having the time is very difficult, right now. We’re not saying never never never have I ever.

“Right now, we don’t feasibly understand how we could fit it into our lives…. Never Have I Ever feels like a third child and we’re not there yet.”

More emotion would be to come just a few minutes later after one of their colleagues, Joe, played a highlights reel from the past four years of the podcast.

After their clips were played Hannah broke down in tears as she admitted: “Honestly, it’s the sad music that’s getting me, but it’s been the best time. I’ve just had so much fun.

“Doing stuff every week and listening to that you realise how many people have been along that journey with us And like this started out in trampoline parks and now we’ve got two kids .

“We’ve really raised the game and if someone says we’re not committed to the cause I think we committed, it’s honestly been like the best time. It’s just really hard to almost say goodbye to it right now because it’s a lot.”

Hannah, like Joel, agreed that this might not be the end for their podcast once they’ve had some time to adjust to their new life with their two children.

She added: “Until we sort of, sort out childcare, learn how to juggle, get more childcare, and figure it out then we can talk about bringing it back…we’ve had to accept we just need a little time.”

Whilst Joel may be taking a pause from Never Have I Ever, he is set to return to the UK’s screens when he presents the National Television Awards (NTAs) this evening (September 8) at 8pm on ITV.
