Princess Diana’s brother has issued an update on the Althorp Estate where he lives ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s rumoured visit. Although unconfirmed, it is believed Harry – who has been in the UK since Monday – could visit his late mother’s ancestral home this weekend, where Diana’s brother, Charles, Earl Spencer, still lives.

It is likely that Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – who are expected to privately join Prince Harry in Britain within the next few days – could join the duke when visiting Althorp, which could include a visit to Diana’s resting place on the estate’s grounds. It is also likely the family could stay at the estate, especially as it is closed to the public this weekend. No official confirmation has been given on this.

However, while Charles has stayed tight-lipped about whether or not he will be hosting his nephew for a stay, he hasn’t been quiet about telling the world about the estate’s new residents.

These are young black swans living in Althorp’s Round Oval Lake, which the family have to cross by boat to see Diana’s grave.

Yesterday, Charles shared a picture of the swans on Instagram, writing: “I’ve just introduced these four beautiful, young, black swans (two male, two female) to Althorp’s Round Oval Lake. Their plumage will darken as they age.

“These were a favourite breed, in childhood – so exotic (they are Australian), and gorgeous. Pleased to report that they’ve settled in very happily.”

Fans have been quick to comment on the new Althorp additions and on how they could make Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet very happy if they do indeed visit the estate over the coming days.

One fan wrote: “It will be wonderful when Archie and Lilibet can watch these graceful swans while visiting Grandma Diana.”

Someone else said: “Beautiful and serene, like Diana.”

Another person commented: “Just beautiful and very fitting for your sister’s Eternal Peace.”

It is not known if Harry and his family will visit the Althorp Estate, which is usually open to the public every day in the summer, but will be closed to the public today and tomorrow.
